Until 10 years ago, I was a very heavy smoker, using a carton of cigarettes and two packets of pipe tobacco a week
One Wednesday night, after a Bible study at the local church, I received prayer to quit smoking, and God took all desire to smoke away. I thank God, for I am able to go around smokers and it does not tempt or upset me. I had been a smoker for over 50 years.
A few months ago I had developed a ticklish cough and decided to see what was wrong. By this time I had also developed a chest complaint which was diagnosed as emphysema. The doctor gave me a referral to have a chest X-ray. On the Sunday evening service at church prior to the X-ray appointment, Pastor Bates said God was calling people to receive prayer for healing, and said to me, God wanted to heal me - did I believe God would? I said yes.
God worked a miracle on my body that night and healed me.
My doctor was baffled by my X-ray results, saying there was no sign of emphysema, only a slight scar on my lungs. I really give praise to God that He healed me and continues to keep me healthy today.
