Men's Camp


The first annual "Gippsland Regional Men's Camp" featured the ministry of Pastor Chris Sutton. Chris pastors a thriving church in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, he also serves as the Eastern Metro region's District Superintendent as well as on the Victorian Executive.

Since starting Eastside in the early 80's, Chris and his wife Jasmine have built an exciting church that has impacted the lives of many people both far and wide. One of the reasons for continued success in Chris' ministry is his ability to lead and train others for the work of the ministry.

With the world in such a state, our communities are crying out for answers, but the truth is, unless real men begin to stand up and speak God's truth our communities will remain a wasteland. On behalf of the Gippsland regional District Superintendent, I would like to invite the pastors and men of this district to attend this camp for a great time of ministry and fellowship. "Come along and let the Spirit of Christ mightily impact your life."


The first Men's Camp featured excellent preaching from Pastor Chris Sutton, great fellowship between all the men who attended, and a powerful time of worship and prayer. Some of the scriptures which featured in the preaching included the book of JOSHUA, chapter 1:1-9, that reveals God wants all people to be successful and to prosper through doing His word in their lives.

The preaching during the men's camp also taught that the faithful in the Lord are God's masterpiece, those who have a daily walk of faith with God. The power of prayer was preached on, as was the importance of good relationships, working as a team, and a right attitude as a key to success in life.

The men who attended the Men's Camp learnt that success is not where you are or what is happening to you, but that it is having the Holy Spirit in us, being obedient to the Holy Spirit by growing in our faith in the Lord. We also learnt that our attitude as Christians should be the same as Jesus' attitude - totally humble and unselfish, trying to help people find salvation in God's Son Jesus Christ. The Men's Camp was a great time of preaching, learning, worship, and fellowship, and all men being called by God into a relationship with Him are encouraged to attend this excellent camp.
